Stage design is not just 'conceiving a setting for theatre or dance to take place within and in front of it'.

The proposed stage design for a contemporary dance company is part of the overall choreography; in fact, the design comes along with an own 'choreography' for the stage settings. The settings dance their own dance, move their own way, change their space, are not just static, but highly dynamic themselves. The dancers are challenged with a space in motion.

Ultimately, the concept was abandoned due to the company's change of subject for the dance.
